Heart and Hands Petaluma is a Walford-inspired, year-round program for children ages 15 months to five years. We are dedicated to the healthy development of young children in a warm and loving environment. We take the time to recognize the uniqueness of each individual.  Our hope is to lay a foundation for a healthy adult attitude by developing a child’s sense of beauty, wonder, and interest in the world in which we live.  Our program is nestled underneath 2 giant redwood trees and we spend ample time outdoors.  Play is the true work of children and it is how they learn to interpret the world, so we do a lot of it.  There is a strong rhythm to our day as rhythm is what helps children thrive and feel safe.  The director of the program is Julie Yarnall and she is a certified Waldorf teacher.  Julie runs the program with the help of her husband Barry who is a Waldorf wooden toy maker.  Heart and Hands is also Lifeways certified.  We have a strong parent community and offer  parent evenings to deepen our Waldorf understanding.  We gather seasonally as an entire community to celebrate together.  Please contact us if you would like to come and take a tour.  We believe that if you when you nurture a child’s heart and hands, you give them wings to fly.  www.heartandhandspetaluma.com
